From hobby to profession

Heinen Delftware is a typical Dutch family business, which started as a hobby in the early 1970's by Jaap Heinen. After time spent in many different locations in the Netherlands the business is now firmly established in Putten where it all began....

Inspired by antique Delftware and Japanese and Chinese Imari porcelain, Jaap Heinen had the idea of painting ceramics himself.

The succes of this hobby meant painting soon became his profession. The business continued to grow when his son Jorrit Heinen, who possessed the same creative talent, also became active as a painter. The skills of the trade passed from father to son.

Due to an increase in demand, a team of talented craftsmen and painters are now working within Heinen Delftware.

Our business manages the whole production process from beginning to end. Sacks of clay powder arrive at the factory and finished products, fully handpainted, glazed and fired, are sold by us and admired all over the world'
